Vehicle Control Verification Engineer

Honda R&D Americas, Inc. (HRA) was founded in Central Ohio in 1984 and is responsible for creating advanced products and technologies that provide new value to Honda and Acura customers. We have the capability of "complete product creation" ? developing all-new products, starting from market and technology research and design styling through engineering design, prototype fabrication and testing, local parts procurement and support for mass production preparation. This includes many areas of design (interior and exterior), crash & safety testing, wind-tunnel testing, materials research, fabrication, engine dynamometer testing, and hot & cold weather testing. Some of the more recent vehicles we have developed are the 2016 models of the Acura NSX, Acura TLX, Honda Civic, and Honda Pilot as well as the 2017 Acura MDX, & Honda Odyssey. HRA in Ohio is the 2nd largest R&D facility for Honda in the world, after Japan, and is engaged in the development and testing of Honda and Acura automobiles and Honda power, and is also taking a leading role in the advancement of leading-edge safety, driver assistive, and environmental technologies.
HRA is seeking a dynamic associate to work in our vehicle control integration department. Working under the leadership of senior members in the group, the candidate is expected to perform the following job role and responsibilities. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills coupled with the willingness to pro-actively seek out information from others and convert concepts into specific requirements.
Responsibilities for this position will include applying engineering principles, experiences and various analysis tools to develop test plans/procedures required to validate integrated control systems and simulation models to ensure they meet acceptance criteria, performance level targets and any applicable internal standards. Interpret physical test results and formulate output for purpose of comparison with expected control system behavior or virtual test (simulation) results, analyze/compare the results, identify discrepancies and explain probable reasons why, assist in the development of countermeasures, and summarize activities/outputs through clear written reports/formal presentations. Identify areas where process improvement could provide high value and assist in the development and implementation of the adjusted process. May also coordinate multiple activities, including resource scheduling, complex testing, complex/combined reporting, cataloging of data, verifying multiple streams of test data/results for accuracy/thoroughness, and determining if additional testing is needed.
BSME or BSEE with minimum 1 years of closely related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Valid driver's license required to operate vehicles on proving grounds. Experience in proving ground testing and a knowledge of vehicle dynamics and controls is preferred. PC Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other technical software) and excellent communication/interpersonal skills required. Experience with data acquisition systems (INCA, CANalyzer, etc.) and control software rapid-prototyping tools (MicroAutobox et al.) is a plus. Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
