Dynamic Performance Engineer

Are you interested in balancingaerodynamic drag with engine performance? Then you'll want to work in theaerothermal performance department. We are a team of experimental andcomputational engineers and technicians that are integrating Honda's next generationof powertrains into future Honda and Acura passenger cars and light trucks. Wetake into account many sub-system targets and functions and then balance fullvehicle performance with various problem solving techniques. Theaerothermal department takes great satisfaction that we take part in the entiredevelopment process and develop vehicles from initial concept to final design.We are looking for self-starter, automotive enthusiasts that can contribute tothis objective.
Theprimary responsibilities of this position with involve working closely withdevelopment teams to set target direction for target settings for vehicledevelopment projects. This will include advising and conducting fullvehicle thermal performance tests and reporting test results to all necessarydepartments. This will include test planning, test setup, conducting thetest, analyzing the test data, and writing the final test report. Additional responsibilities include: working with aerodynamic engineers todevelop predictions of cooling drag and implementing new methods to allow earlyon planning and prediction of heat exchanger performance. A successfulcandidate will be able to work with powertrain groups to improvepowertrain-frame integration.
Bachelor'sdegree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and a minimum of 5 years'experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous hands-ontransmission/Powertrain systems experience a plus. Proficient PC Skills(Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other technical software), experience with Dataacquisition software/hardware and excellent communication/interpersonal skillsrequired. Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.
