Maintenance Technician (Honda)

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical systems related to test facility and building infrastructure equipment. Duties require the technician to troubleshoot and perform or coordinate preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), corrective maintenance (CM repair), and installation of equipment and systems.
Specific duties include: Maintenance and repair of electrical, electro-mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic control equipment in a high paced automotive test environment, use of common hand tools and multifunction electric meter in a safe and appropriate manner to independently monitor and troubleshoot equipment and control systems involving single or multiple integrated systems, request support from vendors as necessary, perform inspections and repair of installed systems, visually inspect assigned equipment to identify problems such as leaks, unusual noises & smells, excessive temperature, proper fluid levels, filter cleanliness, power supply problems, electrical distribution equipment trouble, motor maintenance, control and instrumentation anomalies, and perform follow-up repairs or coordinate to make repairs when problems are found. Must accurately record information related to maintenance activities Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including the creation, editing, and closing of work orders, and clearly communicate in a timely manner the status of work efforts and activities to responsible facility engineers and test (user) group customers.
Types of systems include, but are not limited to, data acquisition and control systems (computers and PLC's), engine/transmission bench dynamometers, and chassis dynamometers, air quality systems (HVAC), fluid cooling systems, fuel systems, exhaust extraction systems, thermal oxidizers, exhaust analysis systems.
The successful candidate must be a self-starter that can operate with minimal supervision, but will also function as a member of a maintenance team. They must be able to work independently, but always seek to expand knowledge in all assigned areas. They must be capable of safety stopping work when interrupted. Must be able to communicate clearly with customers and inter-department Teams.
The candidate will be required to become familiar and comply with company and Jacobs and Client policies for safety, security, and the rules associated with outside contractors working on-site.
This position is key to the continuing development of a core competency in maintenance consulting services, and is instrumental in establishing a long-term maintenance support relationship with a valued client.
Services will be delivered exclusively at a client facility in Raymond, OH.
Associates degree in a technical discipline or electrician license (preferred) with a minimum of 8 years work experience in industrial equipment maintenance. Preference will be given to those with detailed experience with PLC controllers. The successful candidate must possess an aptitude either in electrical/electronic, instrumentation, and or mechanical systems. Knowledge of the operation and maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. The candidate must be able to read and interpret technical literature and manufacturers specifications. Strong verbal and written communications skills accompanied by good organizational skills.

Experience with CMMS software: SAP, Maximo, CWorks, Manager Plus, etc.
Possess PLC, VFD, and system/facilities controls knowledge accompanied by experience with software and hardware/instrumentation required for facility integration.
Essential Functions
Work Environment
Field work may bring individual into close proximity of extreme high or low temperatures, high speed rotating equipment and high noise levels, primarily inside, occasionally outside.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform field work in tight spaces, maneuver in and around facility equipment while obtaining measurements and performing equipment inspections and troubleshooting. Requires the physical ability to walk around large facility, up/down stairs, climb fixed ladders, etc.
Must be able to use stairs, ladders, and work in and around equipment in a plant environment.
