The Vehicle Dynamics Brake Controls Group Leader is a front line leadership role that is responsible for associate performance, morale, workload allocation and career development; all in an effort to ensure development project deliverables are achieved on time and at a high quality; as well as maintaining alignment with the Divisional vision and ultimately HDMA's business strategy. At Honda, our associates take pride in their responsibilities. A typical day for a Brake Controls Group Leader will include:
Project Development Milestones - Ensure group output for quality and schedule. Coordinate milestone evaluation events leading toward development gates Ensure issue resolution is achieved through coordination with technical experts Account for group development documents to ensure applicable development is completed. Associate Performance - Track/assess performance vs. stated goals/competencies Associate Morale - Foster positive work environment through leadership by example Seeks to understand other's backgrounds, experiences / beliefs and respects individual differences Takes accountability for one's own and others actions and actively works to build strong teamwork & trust between peers Associate Development - Create/Discuss career development plan and ensure succession Provides timely guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge / skill needed to accomplish a task or solve a problem Work-Life Balance - Forecast and manage group schedule and workload Resource Management - Ensure project resources are available to ensure deliverables Department Budget - Manage group expenditures and ensure they align with dept. budget Understands basic cost drivers and follows appropriate management principles Know-How and Best Practices - Develop group specific efficiency-up measures to ensure on-time/quality deliverables and promote continuity Brake Control Systems engineering - fill in when/if required as steering, suspension, passive safety control engineer Review / write control specifications, develop functional requirements Complete bench, in-vehicle, and HILS requirement testing Work with directly with supplier(s) for system integration and manage issues Factory coordination during build process Instrument test parts and vehicle for data collection We are looking for qualified people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, open minds, and a disciplined work ethic. To bring the future to Honda as a Brake Controls Group Leader , you must have:
Qualifications B.S in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering > 8 years of relevant experience, dynamic chassis control experience preferred > 2 years of experience supervising a group of engineers
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
